10 weeks old... 41 weeks gestation

Ok, I had to look back at my last post to see what their gestational age is... so, since they're at term now, we're just going to go with how many weeks they are... You know how many 'ages' preemies have?? There's an actual age (10 weeks), gestational age (41 weeks), and adjusted age (one week) for preemies. Adjusted age is how many weeks past gestation.  Milestones are based off of the expectations of their adjusted age.  So right now, milestone wise, they are one week old.

BUT... have you ever seen a 'one-weeker' roll over??  That's why I'm a little hesitant about the 'adjusted age' thing...

Johnalyn can roll over from tummy to back!!  She rolled over at 8 weeks, but we chalked it up to being gassy and thrashing.  She did it twice on Monday, and I felt like it was becoming more intentional... and then she finally did it for the camera yesterday!  I started the video about half way through the roll over, but here's the proof!!  Click the hyperlink for the You Tube video!

Johnalyn rolling over

They are both 7 lbs 6 oz, and they're both taking in almost 2.5 oz of milk every 3 hours, and have both started to put their hands on the bottle while being fed.  This week, they're both becoming more awake between feedings, so we're taking advantage of that and doing tummy time as much as possible.  They're starting to give us little facial expressions, too.  Johnalyn is having a hard time at night.  She likes to scream... a lot.  I don't know if I should consider this colicky or gas to the extreme.  She's content as could be as soon as the sun comes up, though!  It'll get better... It'll get better...

Danika has been the perfect baby this week.  She sleeps when I need to get things done, and she's awake when I'm ready to play with her, and wakes up right on time for feeding... and when I accidentally feed her sister when it was supposed to be her turn, she just waits as patiently as she can!

We won't see the doctor for another two months (which surprised me)... but the public health nurse comes out to our house once a week for weight checks... which I prefer because then I don't have to go anywhere!  It takes us two hours to leave the house... Anyone who has watched Full House... I feel like the scene where Jesse and Becky decide to go visit her aunt and it takes them three hours from feeding, diapering, packing, spit up, re-packing, diapering again, and another feeding... and THEN we're ready!  It's easier to just stay home!

These two pictures I think are my favorite so far!  Grandma Cindy was quick with the camera for these shots!!
